From the moment the Sony PS3 was launched it lacked one important feature that keeps gamers in the online community talking and that’s the in-game communication feature. The Xbox 360 has always had the better voice chat options in and out of gaming, but at long last it’s rumoured that the next PS3 Firmware version 2.4 is not only days away but will also feature improved communication features.
We are hearing from “Computer And Video Games” that this latest firmware update could be coming to Playstation 3 owners as early as June 18. This news has been reported from “unnamed sources in Holland”.
Update 2.4 could not only give the much awaited communication upgrade but also a Trophy system for achievement points and some other undisclosed goodies. Sony’s official word on this upcoming firmware was that it will be coming in the summer of 2008, so June would be early summer and I am sure much better than waiting to the end of summer.
We have heard before that this update was coming on June 10th; I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens (I’m sure the wait will not be long).

The PS3 is much better than the Xbox 360 overall, but it has needed this chat upgrade. I hope it comes.

I have updated to 2.4 but am still very dissapointed with the chat, you cannot enter a private chat without exiting a game completely.
When are Sony going to sort this out?
I personally know people who are waiting for this to be sorted before trading in there xbox’s and jumping onto ps3, Come on Sony get a grip
