Are Sony set to unveil another PS3 Control pad?

Another exciting rumour has been surfacing around the internet. Judging by the number of articles surrounding this news, it seems as if this one would certainly have some truth behind it.
Apparently the new controller in question will have the ability to ‘break apart’ into two separate units, each of which contains its own accelerometer (the technology contained in the previous pads), kind of like the Nintendo Wii’s ‘Wii-mote’.

Sony has yet to release any official information regarding this subject, but with E3 coming up, I wouldn’t bet against Sony coming out and giving out information on it. If the new pad does eventually get released, imagine the new possibilities PS3 gamers will be able to experience. It is no secret that the Nintendo Wii and its games are more ‘family’ orientated due to its motion controls, and the PS3 was always seen as ‘the man’s’ console. It is a mouth-watering prospect to be able to play a game on the PS3 with these newly designed controls in mind; don’t ask me why but slashing countless enemies with this new pad on Ninja Gaiden springs to mind…

I did post in earlier thread last week that the PS3 is finally starting to leave its mark on the industry, If this announcement appears to be true, it is yet more evidence that the PS3 is now becoming the complete system, let’s just hope that this new design features rumble support! Hopefully there will be more developments on this story within the next few weeks, stay tuned to hear further news.
