It is no surprise that one of the biggest titles of the year, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots has debuted at number one on the UK charts this week. The huge PS3 exclusive knocked off Lego Indiana Jones off the top spot and has rapidly become the second fastest PS3 game in the UK with only the multiplatform GTA IV beating it.

Due to its popularity with its millions of fans worldwide, It is no surprise that we are seeing MGS4 dominate the charts already, the game took years to develop and it was always going to be a title that PS3 gamers just ‘had’ to own, much like GTA 4. Compared with the stats of previous titiles in the Metal Gear series, it surpassed figures of MGS3 by 24,000 units, but did not reach the heights of MGS2 as they fell short by 14,000 units.

With the success that MGS4 is achieving now, It would surely take a huge game to knock it off the top spot, but with it only been released just a week ago, It may go on to win many more achievements.
