This is a good question when you think about it, what have Sony missed out when it comes to the PS3 2.40 Firmware. Ok we all know that the new Sony PS3 2.40 firmware update is a fantastic step forward and there are quite a few things that a very good indeed, especially when it comes to the next-generation gaming consoles, but there are many features Sony has left out that will just annoy you. Sony is going to expand on this though so we can see many more additions.
The really good thing that they have done which product-reviews.net has said has to be the ability to change the accessory settings whilst playing a game, like Product Reviews we also love playing Call of Duty 4 and as an example also play this game, first of all I was playing online poker with a member of my family which I had the Playstation EYE camera connected which means I can see the person and hear them all through the camera, but I finished this game and started to play CoD4, yes you got it the Playstation EYE camera was still connected which is a pain is the ass when playing CoD4 as you cannot hear people properly, even more a pain in the ass last night was the fact I had to quit the game to change the accessory setting back to my Bluetooth headset, well now you do not have to worry about quitting the game because you can change the settings whilst in game mode.
The major downside to this update is the lack of changing music, chat, sound and other settings without quitting the game, you have to quit the game to change these settings, but of course Sony will sort this out. Many of the features that you will see in the XMB whilst playing games cannot be used and this indeed means accessing the Playstation Store. Does this mean it is pointless having them at this time?
The biggest and most devastating thing that Sony have left out has to be the ability to voice chat with people privately whilst in a game, now come on how cool would this have been. Like many PS3 fans I have also moved from Xbox 360 to PS3 and I do miss the fact that Xbox this is a feature I would love to see.
So please tell us “What have they missed out when it comes to the PS3 2.40 Firmware Update?
