Things are getting serious for prisoners, reading the BBC news online we came across something really interesting that we thought we should share with you. To put it bluntly prisoners are having their Playstaion consoles and of course Xbox consoles taken away from them.
The cons have been basically banned from playing violent games on these gaming consoles, the latest news says that cons who have earned top privileges will be the ones that are allowed limited access to these games consoles, but there will be a complete ban on the violent shooter games (shoot-em-up) with an 18 rating.
This has been enforced after the new directives rule that taxpayers’ money must no longer be used to buy games or consoles.
The Government admitted last year that they spent a whooping £10,000+ on 80 Playstation consoles and 15 Xbox consoles for young offender institutions.
The whole idea of allowing cons to use gaming consoles was the hope of preventing depression after spending many hours in cells with nothing to do, a few statements that we have seen say:
“No public funds must be used by establishments to purchase games consoles and equipment.
“Governors must ensure that action to implement these changes is completed by 30 September 2008″.
PS3 Daily Say: Prisoners are in prison for a reason and surely they are there for crimes they have committed, it seems that prisoners get a better life than the less fortunate ones on the outside trying to live their lives. In that we mean there are many people that cannot afford gaming consoles and prisoners get special treatment. The point of games being an over 18 rating being bad for prisoners is stupid, violent games do not make people violent, people are violent if it is in them.
Do you think it is right or wrong for prisoners to have their Playstation consoles taken away from them?

in general i think the UK police are a joke, they seek out the weak and leave the strong i.e people doing the bad crimes get away with it while kids who hang out in parks are getting threated with time. Most people my age think prison is a joke because of things like this, they get an easy time in there compared to people who haven’t done anything wrong and live on the streets.
But it has to be said, 80 ps to 15 xbox’s, they know they’re gaming in there

They’re in prison for doing something wrong… yes?
Should people be rewarded for doing something wrong? No!
Simple as!

if they give the systems to inmates to stop depression from being in a cell
what are they giving the people the inmates put through hell
the reason you end up locked in a jail cell is you did something wrong who are they to be rewarded they should take all the systems they bought tie them around the persons neck who came up with that wonderful idea and toss him in on the deep end of the pool
