Greg Howson from the Guardian has just had a round-table interview with Pete Hines, Fallout 3 project manager at Bethesda, the interview is pretty long but we want to chat about a few things that caught our eye.
First up is when Greg Howson asked the question “Fallout 3 is out on PC, 360 and PS3 - any preference on platform? The reply came back basically saying “Officially no” the Microsoft Xbox 360 is their lead platform, but obviously they are aiming par performance on all three platforms.
The second question of the many that caught our eye was “Why is there no online options in Fallout 3 - surely co-op would be fantastic? The answer to this is simple really “Single player only”, the basic answer is that single playing game is hard enough so they just focused on the single player game.
Now personally we would have liked to see co-op and online gaming, we can see this being a major downfall to the game.

Just so you know Fallout 3 is out this autumn on PC, PS3 and 360. Game on, will you buy it though?

Yes, I will be buying it for my PS3. Online play isn’t really essential for me. I get my online fix in enough games as it is, and I look forward to this game and the many hours of darkened room absorption, without hearing someone’s mom yell at them to go to bed over the mic.
For the record, I only play GTAIV offline for that same reason. I came up in offline gaming, and still appreciate a dedicated single player, offline title.

I don’t need more games to crush in a single day and then never touch it again. Its likely I won’t ever buy it based off of this.
