How would you like to get more speed when downloading PSN downloads? Yes thought you would say yes. Well we found some cool info from VG Tilt that mentions this, they do say that the downloads are not like really fast but a little faster, but in our eyes anything in the way of faster is better than slower.
How many times have you wanted to download something from the PlayStation Network and you needed to walk away because they are long-ass boring to wait for? Well this is what the source said “if you queue up all you want to DL and individually Download it from the store menu or your drop down download list, without doing a background download, it not only increased my speed from an average of 1mb every 4 seconds to 1Mb every 1 second to 2 seconds, but it also pre-installs your content for you. So you don’t have to go back out and manually do it from your XMB.”
Now it seems that the connection is a lot faster with an average 1mb per second but it is not a constant 1mb per second, you will notice it dropping which gets you 1mb every 3 to 4 seconds. Now we have not tested this so you will have to take the sources word, we want you to comment on this as we want to know more.
Apparently the source below got over 1.4GB of downloads in less than 7 min flat.

Good tip. I’ll have to try it out.
I think he means to NOT download in the background. Just leave it be as it is. I am not the most tech savvy person in the world, but maybe downloading in the back round takes up more of the systems power. This way it just focuses on the task of downloading, instead of downloading and pulling up the XMB.
