Calling all Mac and Sony PSA3 lovers out there, Next3D announced yesterday that its 3D Movie player technology will at last be releasing on Macs and Sony’s PlayStation 3 video game console, the best news is that the software will be free and will also work with Next3D’s content delivery service.

About Next3D movies: Next3D movies are encoded using cool technology that will provide 1080P-resolution high-definition stereoscopic imagery, plus with the distribution and auditing mechanisms for content providers and digital rights management.

Next3D Technology: based around a proposed specification for the H.264 video standard already in use, supports for compression of multi-view based content and can be paired with a 3D-capable television, as well as along with LCD “shutter glasses” and an emitter that will synchronize the shutter glasses to the television. This is great news because it means that you can view content in 3D without any colour shifting.
